The NLI is happy to host University of Winnipeg Teacher Certificate Program (TCP) and University of Manitoba Certification in Teaching English as a Second Language (CTESL) students for their practicum requirement. Please speak with the PC to arrange for an interview.
Practicum students in other disciplines such as Education and International Development Studies are welcome. Practicums will consist of office administration, policy development and in class volunteering. Interested students are asked to meet with the IRCOM Volunteer Coordinator to discuss their practicum needs.
Masters Students – The Newcomer Literacy Initiative welcomes Master’s Students who would consider writing their thesis on the NLI. Interested Masters Students should contact the NLI Program Coordinator, or the IRCOM Volunteer Coordinator.
Work placements in partnership with SUCCESS Skills and EMPLOYMENT Opportunities for Immigrant Youth will be arranged with the IRCOM Executive Director and the NLI PC.
