Pat led her own consulting company, The Tunnelwood Group, for twenty years and has worked with over 100 organizations in all non-profit sectors.  She was the first Canadian to achieve professional certification as an Advanced Certified Fundraising Executive (ACFRE), and is one of the few Canadians holding a Masters degree in Philanthropy and Development. A recognized leader in the profession, Pat was honored by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Manitoba Chapter with the establishment of the Patricia Hardy Scholarship for Advancement.

Pat is also an author of the first two volumes of the first Canadian fundraising textbook, “Excellence in Fundraising in Canada” and has written a chapter on Diversity in Fundraising in Canada for an international book, “Diversity and Philanthropy: Expanding the Circle of Giving,” published by Praeger Imprint in 2016.

After working for many years in the areas of sustainability, education, human rights, and justice, Pat is excited to be working with IRCOM.  Pat says, “IRCOM’s diversity of staff and learners, it’s philosophy and mission are all good fits with my own beliefs and thinking.  Settlement services are very important to newcomers and I am delighted to be part of such important work.”
